To cap off my birthday week, Aaron and I and all our friends headed out to the Hi-Life in Ballard for some chow. (From Chow foods - get it? Oh, the jokes do go bad fast, don't they?) We were lucky enough to get a table in the room off to the right side, which gave us a space almost all to ourselves. The large windows let in lots of natural light, which was very flattering.
I like the food at the Hi-Life, because they have fancy dishes, as well as plainer fare. I had the magherita pizza, which is simple, but delicious. We also had many drinks, as you can see in this picture that Aaron took:

I got a variety of delightful gifts, like a wee tiny purse which I'm going to use on my desk at work to house lipstick and lipgloss (thanks daisymayrobin and Fresh Fish!), a tiny photo album, a gift card to Bath and Body Works and a sweet magnet that says, "Chillin with my Gnomies" and a cute bath set. All lovely and very much appreciated! (Not to mention that my dinner was "taken care of" - which was super fantastic!)
After dinner, we walked over to Hazelwood to see if we could find seating for 12-13 people.

Sadly, that wasn't happening. So we headed to 65th in Ballard - street of the old faithful Tin Hat and Reading Gaol. Ye old Tin Hat was also pretty packed, so we hoofed it up the street to the Reading Gaol, which had seating galore. We proceeded to move all the tables around to make one big table and roosted there for the remainder of the evening.
Since it was my birthday, a couple shots were proffered up. And since I can't turn down anything free, it was bottoms up! (Isn't it amazing how after you have a shot with a name like "Chocolate Cake", "Oatmeal Cookie" or "Washington Apple" you always feel compelled to say, "Whoa! That tastes JUST LIKE CHOCOLATE CAKE/AN OATMEAL COOKIE/A WASHINGTON APPLE!"?
Needless to say, my Sunday was spent in the prone position on the couch. A good excuse to watch a three hour movie like "The Departed". (It was good, but very violent.)
