Snoqualmie Falls

Our trip to Snoqualmie Falls yesterday turned out great! It only took about an hour to drive there and we didn't hit any traffic. Until we got there, that is! I think everyone else had the idea to go see the falls for Valentine's Day, too.

Once we found a place to park and started walking around on the paths, the crowds didn't seem quite so bad. We could see the falls almost immediately once we entered the park. So if you don't like to hike, you can do a very small amount of walking. I took some shots of the falls from the lookout point in the upper part of the park.

It was breathtaking!

But what was even more breathtaking was the two-mile round trip hike that we took to get down to the river. It was very steep hiking! Once you get off the trail, there is a boardwalk that leads down to another vantage point for photo ops. A sign warns you to stay on the boardwalk,

but nobody paid any attention that and everyone was shimmying over the edge of the fence to climb down the rocks to the riverbed (Aaron and me included!)

We climbed around on the rocks and got some closer photos of the falls.

It was gorgeous, but the spray from the waterfall was making me cold and frizzing my hair, so we turned around and hiked back up to where the car was parked.

By this time, we were powerful hungry and I was in the mood for pie. So we headed to North Bend!
