Make-Up Forever

I ordered some Make-Up Forever HD Microfinish powder on Sephora's website before the holidays. (You know, as a little treat for myself.) The powder is supposed to "Completely even out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look." Sign me up.

When it arrived, I thought it would be an easy pleaser.

How can you go wrong with a translucent powder, right? Well. When I opened it, I saw that it was completely white. Not ivory or cream, but white like baby powder.

It's also superfine, so it puffs up in your nose when you apply it, unless you remember to hold your breath.

But enough of all that - how does it actually look when applied to the face? Smooth? Flawless? No. Sadly, it looks, well, white. And worse, it feels incredibly drying. Kind of like cornstarch. The Microfinish powder soaks up any moisture off your skin like a ShamWow! towel sucks Coke out of a scrap of carpet on those annoying infomercials.

I guess if you're super pale and have majorly oil skin, then Make-Up Forever's HD Microfinish powder might work great. (I don't know who could possibly be paler than I am, but whatever.) So what am I going to do? I'm returning this powder and pronto. I can think of about a million other things that I'd rather spend 30 bucks on. (Hell, maybe I'll buy a Shamwow!)
