Whidbey Island

We did a day trip to Whidbey Island with some friends on Saturday. We lucked out with the weather and it was a clear, beautiful day. After a quick ferry ride from Mukilteo to Clinton, we zipped over to Langley for a quick lunch of pizza and salad. After lunch, we headed down to beach to look around.

We saw this design on the bulk head by the path to the beach.

The view of the water was gorgeous.

After snapping a ton of photos at the beach, we decided to poke around the shops. We walked by the Dog House Tavern

and the Braeburn Cafe

and admired the signage.

Wanting to make the most of our time, we bid Langley farewell, and headed further up the island to Coupeville.

We all snapped some shots of the shorefront shops.

Though a clear day, it was growing chilly, so we drove back to Clinton to catch the ferry. We missed the boat that was in the dock (it was the Kittitas), so we waited and ended up getting on the Cathlamet. (Or the "Catherine-lamet, as my family calls it. Buh duh dum.) I was a wee bit bored while we were waiting, so I took annoying photos of Aaron.

Thankfully, there was a sunset to admire while we were on the ferry, so that kept me entertained.

It was a fun trip and made some fantastic photo ops - I hope to go on more day trips in the near future!
