I've always stuck with Yoplait myself, until I realized that it's almost entirely composed of high fructose corn syrup. So, I switched to the organic Safeway brand of yogurt, which is sweetened with cane juice. Then I got bored with that and have been on a yogurt hiatus. Until the other day.I keep reading about Greek yogurt. Cristin, on Eat Like Me, eats Fage yogurt. And, I read in Self that Faith Hill eats it, too. So, the last time I was at Trader Joe's, I saw it and said, "Sign me up for some o' that Fage yogurt," and tossed in my hand carry basket. (Seriously, have you ever tried to maneuver a shopping cart around Trader Joe's? It's an exercise in futility. "Excuse me? Excuse me! Beep beep. Move your ass. Do you think you're the only one that wants the Flax bran flakes, motherf*cker? Other people might be interested in some healthy Omega 3 goodness at breakfast time, too, you know.")
So, when I got home, I made a beautiful parfait.
One layer of yogurt, one layer of blueberries, some organic Safeway honey flake cereal, and more layers and bit of honey on the top. It was so tasty! A couple tips, though - I didn't like the honey. So I'd skip that next time. Also, more berries would be better and although the container says that it's one serving, I think you could split the yogurt into two servings. And, one more thing, I got 2%, and it was creamy and good. I'm not sure that would be the case with the nonfat. But that's what Faith Hill eats and she's all thin and sh*t, so you decide. So, would I eat it again? Yes. Is it as good as a frozen Margherita pizza from Trader Joe's? No, but I got a couple of those, too, so we're all stocked there. Thanks for asking.
