What Are You Going To Be For Halloween?

Halloween is right around the corner! What a great holiday. Sometimes, though, Halloween can strike terror into the hearts of many - and not just because of the plastic rats and spider rings! No, it's that one innocent question, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" If you don't know, it can be quite stressful!

But, I am here for you. To help you decide, there are some simple questions that you can ask yourself: Do I want to spend a lot or a little? (If you want to spend a lot, consider renting a costume. This place on Roosevelt is awesome!) Do I want to be cute (I said cute, not slutty) or scary? Do I have the time and motivation to put in a lot of effort or do I just want to wear a t-shirt that says "Costume" and call it good?

After you answer those questions, then you can search online or hit up some good party/costume stores in your area. In Seattle, Display and Costume, the Goodwill, Value Village and Champion Party Supply are your best bets. You can also try your local drugstore, like Walgreen's, if you just need some basic devil horns or some ghoulish make-up.

Some good costumes that I've seen over the years are Elvis and Priscilla (the girl was Elvis and the guy was Priscilla - a scary Priscilla, I might add), Devo (all you need is a power dome!), and I once saw a girl dressed like she was in the movie "The Birds". She had on a vintage suit and had plastic crows pinned to her shirt and bloodstains on her face and arms, like she'd been pecked on.

No matter what you decide to wear, anything is better than not dressing up at all - especially if you're going to a party. Nothing is lamer than going to a costume party with no costume. So get thee to Display and Costume!
