Chocolati

I went to Chocolati in Greenwood with a friend for coffee yesterday. I had walked by many times and drooled over the beautiful chocolates and pastries in the window, so I was excited to finally get to go in!

I had a pain au chocolat and an Americano. My friend had a Peppermint Patty Frost (which was like a Frappucino) and a croissant. I thought the Americano was tasty, but the pain au chocolat wasn't flakey and buttery, but rather, it was more bread-like and dry. Her Frost beverage was chocolately and not too minty, but pretty much seemed like a milkshake to me. (I don't understand Frapuccinos. I think it's a ruse to get people to feel like they're ordering a coffee drink, when really, they're ordering a quart of ice cream with some ice shavings mixed in. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but let's just go to Ben and Jerry's and cut the bullshit, people.) However, the atmosphere was comfortable and we had gone there to gossip - er - I mean, catch up, so it was a perfect place to do that. The music was loud enough to talk and not be overheard, but not so loud that we had to shout.

I would definitely go back again...and next time, I will actually try some of the chocolates.
