Cake (The Dessert Not The Band)

Aaron and I are going to Sweet Laurette and Cyndee's on Sunday to do a cake tasting! I can't wait! I love cake. I want a plain white cake with white frosting. I have a weakness for Pilsbury vanilla frosting, so I want something close to that in flavor and texture. But no fondant or weird marzipan shells or fish, thanks very much. Perhaps a Hello Kitty cake?

After the cake tasting, we're going to Fort Worden to scope things out for the ceremony and the reception. Although we still don't have a reading or vows nailed down, I'm hopeful that we'll be struck by inspiration sometime soon. (And we'll be checking with the pyrotechnician to see about the spray of fireworks and the vault that will catapult me to the altar. Just kidding there. Or am I?)

The last thing I hope to accomplish while in Fort Worden is to pick out the place for the rehearsal dinner. We're looking at the Manresa Castle , Fin's Coastal Cuisine, or T's Restaurant (pity the foo'?). I'm gunning for the castle, but we'll have to see it in person. However, by the time we get to the restaurants, I will be in sugar shock from consuming my body weight in frosting. Mmmm, frosting...
