Easter Relocation

It's almost Easter, which, in my opinion, is a useless holiday. I don't like Peeps and I don't go to church. (I do indulge in the occasional Cadbury egg, but they usually make me sick to my stomach.) So, basically, it's just a day that I have off from work that I can't shop. And I have some lamps to return to Target this weekend, but I guess that will have to happen on Saturday and not Sunday - because I've been screwed on that in the past. Trust me, it's a cold, hollow feeling when you drive up to an empty parking lot and slowly realize that the store is closed.

If you think about it, Easter would be a lot more useful if it was celebrated on a Monday, kind of like Labor Day or Memorial Day. Then I could shop as normal on Saturday and Sunday, and everything could be closed on Monday and we'd have the day off from work to do laundry or watch reruns of "The King of Queens". (Yes, I like that show. Stop judging me.) You would think our pal Jesus could have had the foresight to think about that. I mean, the guy can walk on water, right? But he can't have the consideration to his people to rise up from the dead on a Monday to give us a day off from work?

So I'm starting a petition to get Easter moved to a Monday. I could really use an extra holiday between President's Day and Memorial Day. Who's with me?

*Zap* (I just got struck by a lightning bolt. "Whoa! Hello, Satan! Nice hooves. Did you just get a mani?")

I hear you, sister. But, FYI, I was just at the Capitol Hill Trader Joe's, and they have signs up that they will be open until 5pm on Easter. Will shopping for inexpensive party foods suffice until Monday? : )

Don't I know it! We have FOUR boxes of yellow Peeps at home! But maybe Trader Joe's has an organic Peep or something - I may be checking that out on Sunday! Thanks for the tip!
