Mega Money

Prior to a couple weeks ago, I had never bought a lottery ticket. Crazy, right? Doesn't everyone buy a scratch off when they turn 18? Well, I never did. I'm usually not a big gambler. I'd rather go out to eat or have a drink or go shopping.

But then my brother was telling me that he buys Mega Millions lottery tickets. I thought, oh, well, what the hell - one dollar won't kill me, right? I had him explain to me exactly what to say. He said, "You tell them you want one Mega Millions lottery ticket. Duh."

So, I bought one.

Then, I got the mega ball match and won two dollars!!! Woooo!! And I went back and bought two more tickets.

And I had another match! It was one of the main numbers, so I won THREE dollars! I plan to go back today and buy three more tickets.

Aaron thinks that lotteries are a tax on stupid people. But I say, you have to play to win. So cross your fingers for me!

The 90 year old mother of the owner of the company I work for plays the lottery on a daily basis. She's convinced that the lotto is scamming her because the numbers she chooses occasionally come up the day after she plays them.

Stephanie gets the scratchy cards once in a while. Drives me nuts.

Yes, well, I discovered that I didn't actually win the three dollars. I was looking at the wrong date. Ooops. So, I haven't bought any more tickets recently. I know the odds are stacked against me, but....you never know! Although, I wouldn't play every day. Maybe once a month. It does garner lots of eye rolls from Aaron, though.
