Bling-y Anniversary

Today is Aaron's and my three-year wedding anniversary! I am so goofed up on dates, though, that I did not realize this until last night, when I wrote the date for tomorrow's (now today's) food journal entry. (Yep, I stopped the journal at the beginning of my vacation and now the prized size 8 Banana Republic jeans don't fit. Well, I can get them on, but then I can't breathe. Hence, the journaling again.)

Soooo, I got to work putting together a gift and a card to commemorate the occasion. I also mentioned it to Aaron to see if he remembered. He was coy, but then said that, yes, he did indeed know what September 2nd was. We agreed that I would make dinner tonight and that he would get home at a specified time to eat said dinner.

This morning, he surprised me with a card and a small plastic container - Ohmigod- Bling teeth from the Safeway gumball machine!

I immediately tried to thrust them in my mouth, but then realized I was still wearing my nighttime bite guard (You see, it was early morning, because Aaron knows I like to get my gifts first thing in the morning on holidays, birthdays, etc). I took out the nightguard and popped in the bling teeth. Awwwww yeah, bitches! I noticed they are some kind of vamp bling teeth, but I guess vampires are all the rage these days. (Maybe I can go as Jam Master Cullen or Snoop Vamp for Halloween.)

I got Aaron a picture frame with pictures of us both wearing Billy Bob teeth (seriously, before I even knew he got me bling teeth - we, like, totally read each other's minds, right?) and then one nice one from our wedding that he can put on his desk at work and not garner comments like, "Oh, that's your wife? And she goes to school. That's nice, dear. Does she go to a special school?"

And, not to worry - we will be celebrating in style in a few weeks when we go to the Kennedy School in Portland. Can't wait! I will definitely bring my teef with me!
