Aaron and I tried out New's Noodles on Greenwood the other night.
Aaron was in the mood for pho (what the fuh? Heh, sorry, that joke never gets old), so we made our way a block and half down the street for some vittles.
They did a good job of making it seem more like a restaurant and not at all like a record store (it's where Golden Shower of Hits used to be).
They put the seating area in the front of the space and the kitchen/bathrooms are in the back. So it gets pretty good light and seems even airier when it's warm enough to roll up the garage door.
Our server was an older Asian man, who, I assume, is the owner. He was pleasant, filled our water glasses and gave us a few minutes to decide what to order. I picked a Thai cashew/veggie dish with chicken over rice and Aaron got tofu/veggie pho.
Our food arrived quickly and the servings were on the large side. (Score! I love leftovers.) In addition to chicken and cashews, my dish had red/yellow peppers, onions and mushrooms. I picked out the mushrooms, but other that, it was delish. I would totally order it again. It was $8.50, which is not too shabby.
Aaron's pho was ok, he said, but when we asked if the broth was vegetarian, we were informed that it was beef broth. Aaron ate it, but said he prefers Than Brothers pho in Ballard.
So, it might be a place that I go with friends or to get take-out. Because I plan to go back one way or another. It's not posh, but it's close, the service is great and my food was tasty.
