Saturday was our friend D's birthday. I had arranged to make cupcakes, but then my motivation wavered when the temperatures reached the 100s mid-week. I was leaning toward buying a cake or something, so, of course, had to eat the Betty Crocker can of frosting that I had bought. Mmmmm, hydrogenated oils.
But, then, Saturday morning the heat lifted. I fired up the oven and baked a batch of white cupcakes with white frosting (had to buy another can from Safeway.) They turned out great, if I do say so myself!
Next, I had the idea to cut out pictures of D's head and put them on toothpicks on the cupcakes. I selected a bunch of pictures and Aaron put just the heads in Photoshop and made them so they folded over. We cut them out, attached them to cocktail picks with double-sided tape - and voila!
We were proud of our creation and they were a big hit! Yay!
We celebrated on a friend's tugboat and snapped a few pics.
Andy Samberg and T-pain didn't make an appearance, but I sang, "I'm on a boat! I'm on a motherf**kin' boat" to Aaron. I think he appreciated it. (And, yes, I was wearing my flippy floppies.)
The view was amazing!
We even got to go on a ride on a Chris Craft motor boat!
It was good times and I finally appreciated the warm weather. It's not too often you can wear a sundress at 10pm in Seattle and not have hypothermia set in.
