I got a subcription to SELF magazine from Aaron's parents for my birthday, so I decided to scope out SELF's website to get a better idea of what kind of articles they run. (I knew their content is fitness/health oriented, but that was about it.) As I clicked around, I came upon a blog called EatLikeMe, which is written by Cristin Dillon, a registered dietitian. I'm not ususally one for food journals, points or special diets, but this blog is actually kind of interesting. It's fun to see what a dietitian eats (and surprisingly, it's mostly stuff that I would actually eat). Plus, I like to use her ideas as inspiration for different meals that I could make.
I even tried to keep an Eat Like Kittykat log, but that only lasted about three days and I got bored. I did realize, however, that I eat A LOT of cereal and not as many fruits and vegetables as I should. So, I'm trying to mix more fruits and veggies in, while still eating things like Death by Chocolate cake. I'm all for being healthy, but let's cut the bullshit. There's no way I'm giving up dessert...
That said, I am anxious to receive my first issue of SELF! Maybe I'll be inspired to run a marathon or something. (It could happen - I used to run cross country, you know... but that was, um, about 17 years ago...)
