Oscars

Did you watch the Oscars last night? I caught the tail end of it. I was very curious to see what Ellen was wearing and I was pleased to see her in her white tux. Very classy. I wasn't as crazy about the black tux, but her hair looked very cute.

I also liked Kate Winslet's dress, Penelope Cruz's smoky eyes and Helen Mirren's dress (I love a champagne colored dress with sleeves!), but I think Jody Foster could have used a bang trim. Otherwise, however, I approved of her hairstyle. (I'm sure she's relieved to hear that.)

I was disappointed that Jerry Seinfeld's bit wasn't very amusing. You throw your trash on the floor and you don't think you should have to pick it up. We get it. It's not funny.

I have to admit, though, that I haven't seen any of the movies that won Oscars. Not one. I just haven't been as into movies this year for some reason. I was busting up with anticipation last year to see if "Brokeback Mountain" would get Best Picture and was crushed when "Crash" won that honor. But this year, I was only vaguely aware of the nominees.

Now, however, I am going to make a concerted effort to rent the following movies: "The Queen", "Half Nelson" and "Little Miss Sunshine". It's a simple goal, but one that can be reached with little effort. And that's my kind of goal.
