Demo

Down the street from us on Greenwood are the remains of two vacant restaurants - one was a Mexican restaurant and the other was an Indian restaurant called Neelam's. My friend Miss K tells me that Neelam's had great Indian food, but it closed its doors well before we moved to the condo. The buildings are decrepit and sport a variety of graffiti along the roofline. (How do those taggers get up that high?)

On the plus side, Aaron and I have been noticing some construction action occurring in this building.

We're not sure if they're refurbishing it or just preparing it to be knocked down. However, we saw a spray painted note on a piece of plywood that said, "Demo" in the window, so signs point to a demolition.

We think that condos might be built on the land, but there isn't any "proposed land use" sign, so we're not sure. Anything would be an improvement, but I'm excited about the possibility of some nice retail space on the street level of a condo building. A comfy, classy bar ala The Rosebud would be a welcome addition to the 'hood. A girl can dream...
