Dr. Baumann suggests different products to combat your issues. One suggestion for my skin type was Eucerin Redness Relief Daily Perfecting Lotion with SPF 15. I am liking this lotion so far. It's green, which is weird, but it's supposed to mask the redness. It seems to make my skin more even toned, and I noticed that my face looked way less red in my recent New Year's Eve photos.
Dr. Baumann even endorses this eye cream called Relastin that I read about on the blog Beauty Addict. (And, incidentally, I ordered a trial sample of the Relastin. I'm a sucka for new products. But, I have to say that something in Relastin irritated my eyes, which is unfortunate, but not, because it costs $69 for a full size container. Ouch.)
The book is quick to read, because once you figure out your skin type in chapter 3, you can skip to the chapter that addresses your skin issues (chapter 7 for me). I liked that she was straight forward and suggested drugstore brands, in addition to high end brands. They have the book at the Seattle Public Library , so you can put it on hold. She's got a website after all, so once you figure out your skin type, you don't need to own the book.
So, do tell - what's YOUR skin type?
