Our power is out! (Whenever I hear the word "power", the song "The Power" by Snap screeches into my head. Now it's stuck in your head, too, isn't it?)
I heard my white noise machine go off at about 4am. When I looked out the window, it was pitch dark all the way down the block. There was just a sickly glow coming from Safeway. (They must have back-up generators.)
Soooo, I couldn't style my hair this morning, because there's no electricity for the hair dryer. I had to turn on a flashlight in the bathroom to take a shower and - this is the worst - there was no power to make coffee. (Nooooo!) So I feel like I've been camping and I'm rockin' the Nick Nolte mug shot look today. (Sans the Hawaiian shirt, though, never fear. I may not have power, but I do have some semblance of taste.)
The only consolation is that today is Friday. Because if this happened on a Monday, I don't think I could cope...
