My stylist uses only Aveda products, so I get to see how they all work on my hair. (I still like D:Fi, but who says a girl can only have one hair styling product?) My two current faves are Air Control Hair Spray and Brilliant Universal Styling Creme.
Air Control Hair Spray is an ozone friendly aerosol hairspray that has a touchable hold. It won't make your hair feel like it's been painted with wood varnish, but it will give your hairstyle some control and keep things in order. I like it because hair spray was the first hair styling aid I ever used, so I feel very confident with it. Hair spray is like an old friend. Air Control works great and it won't leave you smelling like Senior Prom.
The styling creme has the wonderful smell that all the products in the Brilliant line have. It's like a massage for your nose. (But, massaging your nose might hurt. Um, I guess it's as relaxing as a massage. Oh, you know what I mean.) It's a product that I like to use later in the day after my hair is a little frizzy and blown around from going outside at lunch. Just take a caper sized amount (or pearl sized, whatever you want to call it, just make sure it's a SMALL amount) in your hand and work it into the ends of your hair. Don't put any near your roots, or you will look like you dunked your head in Extra Virgin Olive oil...
Here's to happy styling!
