Once again, my top five best deals all hail from the Goodwill. The day after Christmas sale at the Goodwill is by far the best of the whole year. All colored tags (including T-Wares and Glitter tags) were 50% off! Christmas stuff and some other items were 75% off. Be still my (miserly) beating heart.
I got a boatload of clothes and other goodies! Here are the top picks (all prices listed are sale prices):
1. Vintage orange ash tray. $2
2. Dorky, but amusing Old Navy t-shirt - $1
3. Flower patterned purse - $1
4. Calvin Klein black cords - $7.50 (a high ticket item)
5. Fang brand (never heard of that brand before) flower patterned button down shirt (or "blouse", as my Mom says) - $2.50
We almost didn't make it to the Goodwill in all the snow. However, since I was spending a few days with my parents, my Dad said he was up to the challenge and wasn't going to let a little snow thwart his bargain shopping trip. So he drove us in his truck.
It was great because it wasn't as busy as after Christmas sales in past years, since a lot of people couldn't get out and about. So there were almost no bossy ladies giving us dirty looks for taking a heaping cart and parking it outside the dressing rooms while we try everything on. It was one of the best shopping experiences that I've had in a while.
We also made a big drop off of a clothing donation. And I have another bag ready for the next time we stop by. What goes around, comes around!
The next sale is the Winter sale on Martin Luther King Day. Red tags are 99 cents! Get ready!
