It seems that whenever I travel around the holidays, I fly home sick. And, sure enough, it was no different this year. I swear I try to take good care of myself. I take vitamins, drink lots of water, get lots of sleep and whammo! I still somehow get infected with cold germs.
It all started out smoothly. No pukey on the plane. Direct flight. No problemo. The first couple days of the visit went great. I felt cheery and buoyant. Someone could have even said, "My, isn't she full of holiday spirit? Such an exuberant girl. She just radiates energy." Yes, it's true. I was full of cheer. But then...
Then, the second day of my visit, Aaron said, "I think I might be coming down with something." Then he breathed on me. Duh, duh, duh. Cue "Psycho" music.
And lo! Soon, my throat started to tickle. So I drank some of that worthless Emergen-C. I always think it will help, but it never does. It's probably just Crystal Light in a different package. Within hours, I had a definite sore throat. The pain. The agony.
I tried to be a good sport. To get by, Aaron and I both took copious amounts of OTC drugs from CVS.
The rest of our visit whizzed by and soon we were at the airport in Detroit, where I bought over-priced Afrin and snorked it up in the waiting area like a seasoned huffer.
We got home on New Year's Eve day, but we both went to bed well before the ball dropped. It was pathetic. And we're still sick. Ugh. Happy New Year. Party on.

I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! : ( BTW, Bryan uses Emergen-C as a mixer with vodka. Maybe you should give that a try.
Thanks! I am hoping to make a full recovery soon - but in the meantime, I think EmergenC with vodka sounds delicious! :-)
Hope you guys had a great new year's eve! We should all get together sometime after Aaron and I are well!
