Portland - Strange and Wonderful

While we were in Portland, I was snapping pictures away like a dorky tourist, totally unaware of the disdainful glances of passing hipsters. One of my favorites is this shot of a reinvented shopping cart.

This cartchair was outside Redux.

Across from Hippo Hardware, we saw this amazing building.

I absolutely love the sliding window coverings. Not only do they look cool, but I also imagine that they would completely block out the light of day, which would make for excellent sleep.

Apparently the bottom level of the building is a bar called the Chesterfield. Is the upper part apartments? We couldn't figure that out and it was raining, so we didn't try very hard.

Along the side of the Jupiter, we saw this wall art.

On the way downtown, we saw this Oregon sign. It's a bit blurry, since I took it from the car. It was odd to see, because I am so used to seeing things that say, "Made in Washington".

And, last but most assuredly not least, I had to snap shots of the crazy trailer guy's billboards along the freeway (these aren't in Portland, of course - I think they're in Chehalis).

The second one says, "$1.7 million spent in '07 to interpret WASL into 6 foreign languages." Definitely strange and scary and not strange and wonderful. There are some eye opening sights between Seattle and Portland, that's fo' sho.

At the end of the day, I'm pretty happy to be in my little corner of Greenwood. It's fun to get out of town, but there's nothing better than coming home.

Thanks! It's good to be home!

We should get together for drinks sometime soon - maybe next weekend?
