Pig n' Whistle
The Pig n' Whistle re-opened last Friday, Aug 1st.
Aaron and I walked up there last Friday evening to check things out, while I asked him repeatedly if he was excited to go the Pig n' Whistle, but instead of saying the actual words, I said "the" - and then I made a snorting noise - then said, "and" - and then I whistled. It was hi-larious!
When we got there, we noticed the place was packed! It looked pretty much the same as before, but the walls were darker (black and a rust color) and they had moved some of the tables around. There may have been other changes, but none that jumped out at me.
We looked at the menu, but decided to just have a beer for the time being. We both ordered bottled beer and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. I think it was a good 15-20 minutes before our server came back with our beers. But no glasses.
While we were waiting for our drinks, I had a lot of time to notice the overly bright hanging lights glaring down from above. But throw in a couple 25W bulbs and this problem could be easily solved.
Aaron pointed out that Friday was their first night open, so we shouldn't crucify them right off the bat. Ok, ok. I agreed that we could go back sometime for dinner and try out their menu. (I saw a hamburger, which I like, and fish n' chips on the menu, which Aaron likes - so we're golden there.)
I hope to go when it's daytime to avoid the inquisition lighting. I will be sure to de-brief you after our return visit. (So be sure to wear your briefs. Wah wah....)
