Can I sharpen that pencil for you?

Have you ever ordered an office supply item for use at work that just really yanked your chain or had some minor victory in your office that just seemed really stupid, but made your life complete? Like, maybe Jimmy in accounting finally put the right cover sheet on the TPS reports, or maybe Shirl that had the cube opposite you (you know her, the one that clears her throat all day? Ever heard of a lozenge, Shirl?) finally got moved and they put storage in her old space, or maybe you thought you were out of those pens with the little grippy thing, but then found a whole box in the back of your desk drawer? Sweet! These things seem stupid to others, but in the hum drum drudgery of everyday office life, something small can send you into unparalleled irritation or keep you happy enough to see you through to the next weekend.

Me? I just ordered an industrial pencil sharpener for my office.

It's hands down the most awesome pencil sharpener that I have ever used. It doesn't jam, it sharpens without destroying the pencil and it's fast. It seems pretty ordinary, but it's the highlight of my week. I keep searching for unsharpened pencils, just so I can use the new sharpener. I may start offering my sharpening services for other departments or just accost people in the hall and ask them if they have any number two's that are getting a wee bit dull.

Clearly, I need to get out more.
