After the traumatizing loss of Aaron's iPod that I was indefinitely borrowing, I set out to purchase a replacement iPod. After a bit of research, we ordered a silver used and refurbished iPod Nano for about $100. Not too shabby.
It arrived about two weeks ago, which was none too soon, because sans headphones, the trainers at my gym saw me as an easy target for chatting, which I hate. They are like muscular little sharks, trolling around the gym and looking for fresh blood. I prefer not to have any contact with anyone while I'm working out, so having tunes is an essential deterrent (and a motivator to keep moving when I just want to pack it in and go home and watch "Project Runway".)
It's working out great so far, except that the hard little ear buds that came with it kind of hurt my ears. So I had to rush right out and buy some of the in-ear Koss headphones that were similar to the ones Aaron had bought before (the ones I lost). They're very soft and even though they do sometimes get coated with earwax (I know - gross), they are far more comfortable.
I took a leaf out of Laura Bee's book and put the iPod in one of my smaller Laura Bee wristlets, hoping that would keep it safe and help prevent me from losing it again. (And, hey, that wristlet is mighty cute to boot!)
What a joy to be listening to "Bounce That" by Girltalk, while repelling potential chatters and getting my heart rate up to the fat burning zone on the treadmill. Cellulite and personal trainers be gone!
