When I was out on a walk the other day, I noticed this "No Pets Allowed" sign on the fence leading into the playfield at Greenwood Elementary.
Pretty normal, right? They probably don't want dog poo all over the grass and I guess they lumped in cats because some people walk their cats? Anyway, still pretty normal...except, wait a second...no pot bellied pigs?
To get even more specific about the fact that pot bellied pigs are verboten, they put it in text, just in case the image wasn't specific enough for you.
So, I know that some people have pigs for pets. I have even heard that they are lovely because they are smart and actually cleaner than dogs. However, I have never personally known someone that had a pet pig. I have, on the other hand, known people that have other pets like ferrets, iguanas, rats, gerbils, bunnies and even chickens. So why single out the pigs? It's just one of life's little mysteries, I guess, but it makes me chuckle every time I walk by. I think to myself, "All you people out walking your pigs, you better not try to take them to play catch (or throw the "pigskin" around, ho, ho) on the field at the elementary school! Or you'll be sooo-rrrryyy!"
