Ya Down With DPD? (Yeah, You Know Me)
I went for a walk the other day and noticed a huge vacant lot behind the Baranof (yep, that's the Baranof's smoking deck toward the back of the photo). Two decrepit houses that used to reside there had been demolished. I looked up the Master Use Project number 3007932
and according to the DPD, there will be a residential/commercial building built on the land. It appears that the demolition of Micky D's is part of this endeavor, which is ok with me, because that McDonald's is kind of skeevy. (Although, I have been known to crawl down there in search of a cheeseburger, fries and a Coke on mornings - ok, afternoons - when I am just the tiniest bit hungover.)
So, while sometimes demolition and new construction are not welcome, in this case, I am happy to say, "Hasta la vista, crack houses" and "Hello," to some kind of building that I can stroll by and not feel like it might explode from Shooter and JoBob whipping up a fresh batch of meth. Yay, progress!
