Got Back Fat?

If you've watched the Oprah about getting a proper fitting for a bra, you've probably put at least a bit of thought into whether your current brassiere is doing the job. I did that myself, and did a bit of looking on my own, but I never went to Nordstrom to actually get fitted by a bra fitting expert.

So, over the summer, I thought maybe an ill-filling bra was why my back fat was splooging out under my "tissue" tees. (God damn those thin fabrics. If we could all wear chunky sweaters all the time, I could wear a sports bra and it wouldn't matter.) I tried fastening my bra in a looser hook. No help. I thought maybe I need some type of shaper, but dammit, I'm not built like a Green Bay Packer. (And, ah, I'm no Kate Moss either, but I don't really want to sign on to wearing shapewear on a daily basis.)

Summer and Fall passed, though, and winter came, and I forgot about my bra issues. Until recently, when I decided my current bra was too embarrassingly stretched out to wear in my gym locker room. That's when I went...bra shopping. What a pain in the ass. The only more annoying thing to shop for is jeans.

But, in my quest for a plain t-shirt bra, I found the holy grail of bras. It's a Maidenform bra and it is designed to eliminate back fat.

The best part? It comes in a variety of neutral colors (almond, beige, black) AND they have them at Costco - 2 for $21. Sweet. Problem solved and it's a bargain to boot.
