Awesome cookies aside, we were a bit apprehensive about din-din, because in addition to my Mom, the other guests in attendance were my Dad, my aunt who I haven't really been in touch with much since I was little, and - wait for it - my mom's friend. (Ok, he's her boyfriend. There, I said it.) It could have been a recipe for disaster, but it was actually really nice. Everyone got along surprisingly well, we drank Gluhwein, Proseco and had a wonderful meal and we ate our weight in chocolate, and, of course, opened presents. So, not a bad deal. My Mom's house was also decorated beautifully, which added to the holiday cheer.
And outside, it was snowing! So that made it even more exciting. All in all, it was a great day. Good times with the family, reindeer antlers for everyone, alcohol, chocolate and the promise of after Christmas sales on the horizon.
