Do you ever repeat a word so many times that it doesn't seem like a real word anymore? I was just doing that with "shop". Shop shop shop. Anyway, time for my meds...But seriously, thinking of shopping, I have been doing an assessment of my Fall/Winter wardrobe. Around fifty purses and clutches in various fabrics, shapes and patterns? Check. Fun coats with varying sleeve lengths, colors and textures? Check. Gloves in wool and leather in all colors one might need (even hot pink!). Check. (But I am coveting some opera length leather gloves that I saw on Banana Republic's website. Although, $128 is kinda steep.) Shoes, boots, scarves, pants, jeans...check, check, check. Shirts and sweaters? Full stop.
It's true. My closet is painfully lacking in shirts and sweaters. Sure, I have a ton of button down shirts (or "blouses") to wear to work, but when I put on a boucle pink wool skirt, what the hell do I have to wear on top? I have a selection of graphic t-shirts from Old Navy and Target. Will that work? Hell to the no.
Friends, it's time to go shopping. And I may have to veer away from the Goodwill, where I usually find a mixed bag of fun items (a beaded evening clutch, a wool cape, a pair of shorts to wear around the house and some Dockers cords to wear to work), but I rarely find basic shirts to wear out and about (and the ones that I have found are starting to get worn and are sporting various degrees of pilling). So, I am going to go to the Alderwod Mall on Sunday. Think positive thoughts for me. Because I need some shirts and they better have some that cover my backside when I bend over and that don't have an empire waist. (That's pronounced "om peer", bitches. Yeah, I didn't know that at first either.)
