Real Stinky

You know the magazine "Real Simple"? Well, they have books, too, and I got "Real Simple Solutions" from the library. Real Simple is known for riveting anecdotes like "Surprising Uses for Zipper Seal Bags". I dig stuff like that. Yes, I'm kind of an organizational nerd.

So, the book had great ideas of how to organize and clean everything. My scarf drawer was feeling not so fresh, so I decided to follow their tip of using a dryer sheet to freshen things up. (They recommend putting a couple new dryer sheets in your drawers among your clothing to keep everything smelling nice.) I thought it would be uplifting for my scarves to have that straight from the dryer clean smell.

Well, I put in a few sheets and the next morning - shazam - the whole goddamn bedroom smelled like a laundromat. I had to take all the scarves out and set them in an open Rubbermaid bin to let them air out. It was like an attack on my nose. Pew, pew, pew.

From now on, it's cedar sachets, baby. But not cedar chips. I don't want hamsters bedding down in my scarf drawer.

May I suggest adding a few peanuts along with the cedar chips and you may get a few squirrels.
