Mr. Gyro

Aaron and I went to a restaurant called Mr. Gyro the other day. It's right across the street from the Pig n' Whistle on Greenwood, and they serve (you guessed it!), gyros!

The sign outside says, "Seattle Best Gyros!" and they were pretty good...especially for the price. You can get a gyro sandwich for $4.99 and then you can add a drink and some fries for only $1.49. Aaron got the falafel sandwich and was pleased with it, too. I had a bite and it was tasty.

My only complaint is that the pitas were so full that every time I took a bite, the lettuce and everything would fall out. It's not a place to go on a first date! (I should have asked for a knife and fork.) But that one small hardship was made up for by the fact that the guys working there were so nice! I think they were brothers and they were very young (probably in their 20s?) and they made us feel very welcome. They seemed genuinely happy to be there, too. At least, they sounded happy. They were speaking Greek to each other, so I couldn't understand. (Because it's all Greek to me...wah wah.)

The restaurant is very small and has a counter where you order and then they bring the food to you. We scored some seats by the window, which was fun, because there is a bus stop right outside, so you can people watch.

I will definitely go back to Mr. Gyro. I want to try to the falafel plate, which comes with hummus, two pitas, rice and a greek salad, all for $6.99. Opa!
