I had a very traumatizing event occur over the weekend. I was getting ready to park my ass on the couch for some tea and tv, when I heard a horrible shredding sound. I was wearing my beloved Gloria Vanderbilt Giselle style (I know, that brand sounds really 80s, but they just fit me right for some reason) olive colored khakis. I was afraid to assess the carnage. But, much like with Britney's hoo hoo pictures, I had to look.
It was a total loss. The fabric at the top of the leg area (the crotch, if you will) had totally given out and was completely threadbare and shredded. There was no hope of repairing the damage, as I am not a practiced weaver of fabric. I was beside myself. Gloria Vanderbilt doesn't make the Giselle style pant anymore, so my only salvation may be to one day find them on e-bay (pictured above is a photo of a new pair that was once posted on e-bay, so there is a sliver of hope). It was a sad day. I said a silent prayer as I laid my pants in the trash can. Rest in peace, green khakis.
