I was reading Newsweek the other day and they mentioned a fun fact about brown bag lunches. They said that you can save $4000 in four years by taking your lunch to work instead of going out to eat! They found out this bit of trivia on a website called Feed The Pig.As one who brings her lunch everyday, I fully support the idea of brown baggin' it. (Except that, uh, the money that I save isn't going into a 401k plan. It actually goes to support my make-up/purse/shoe habits. But we don't need to delve into that.) Feed The Pig even has a calculator so that you can figure out exactly how much you can save by packing a lunch. It's astonishing. Peanut butter sandwich, anyone?

Interesting factoid. But wouldn't it have been easier for them to say you can save $1,000 a year?
True enough. 4 years is kind of random.
The pig on the website reminds of the guy in the movie "Butcher Boy". Very creepy movie.
