LV, NV

We arrived in Vegas on Wednesday afternoon. The flight was great and I wanted to hug the pilot because he made the landing was so smooth. (Or was that the Temazapam?)

We stayed at the Mirage, which was super sweet! There is a huge fish tank behind the check-in desk! So cool! Our room was swanky, too, with a jetted bath tub, a lighted make-up mirror and a view of the swimming pool.

After settling into our hotel room, we had a mini tour of the Strip and got to see Fat Elvis at the Barbary Coast. It was an early show and was a bit sad, but entertaining all the same. After starting to melt from the heat, we headed back to the hotel for some mid-afternoon drinkies in the faux rainforest bar.

After drinks, we had dinner (mmmm, pizza) with our friends that live in Vegas and then more (verrrrry expensive) drinks (we nixed heading out to a local bar in favor of the short commute from our room to a Japanese restaurant/lounge in the hotel). It was nice to catch up with our Vegas friends when neither of us had a wedding to think about!

Everyone was raring to check out the Strip again, but I took a rain check in favor of the jetted tub in our hotel room. I could get used to that.

The next morning, we were up bright and early to catch our bus to Lake Powell. Tune in tomorrow for more on that exciting adventure...
