Wedding Bells

We made it through the wedding weekend unscathed! It was touch and go there for a while (so many details, so many cell phone calls that I'm going to have to change my ringtone), but at the end of it all, I couldn't have asked for anything better. It was great to see family and friends that came from near and far. The food was excellent, the booze was boozy, the flowers were gorgeous and the cake looked like something out of Martha Stewart Living!

Our ceremony was short and sweet and was officiated by our friend Jim. Our friend Kim did a short reading and then Aaron and I exchanged vows (and we both got a little teary - sniff) and then it was time to walk back down the aisle and head to the reception line.

We had a full dinner at the reception and toasts galore (both Aaron's brothers gave wonderful toasts - I got all choked up!), but my favorite part was the photo montage slideshow. It was a combination of childhood photos, family photos and photos of our friends. We mixed in tunes by artists such as Sufjan Stevens and SunKilMoon. I had seen it a hundred times at home, but when we played it on the big screen, it brought the house down and there were few dry eyes.

After the slideshow was dancing and debauchery and no more weepy weepyness!

When the reception ended, our guests moved the party to the Officer's House that our friends were staying in and partied into the wee hours. I had to throw in the towel before the festivities ended, lest I turn into a pumpkin.

The next day, we all packed up our roadsters and headed to a variety of destinations and Aaron and I had a very, very long sleep.

And we're pretty much back to normal, except that I'm Mrs. Kittykat now...

Glad to hear the bear made it home safely! My childhood pet was actually our Pekinese, Muffy. Muffy was very tempermental, though, so the bear was a peaceful alternative. She (the bear - I named her "Bonnie" after Bonnie on "ChiPs") was handmade by my aunt. I remember Teddy Ruxpin, though!
