Señor Moose

Over the weekend, I had the good fortune to go to a cafe called Señor Moose in Ballard. I went with Aaron and we met a couple friends to celebrate our friend Miss K's birthday.

We had a bit of a wait, but it was a sunny day and it gave us a chance to chat and review the menu before sitting down. Once we were seated, our server came quickly to take our orders. I chose the chilaquiles in a green salsa with scrambled eggs. Chilaquiles resembled what I, as a gringo, would call breakfast nachos. They take the corn chips and fry them in salsa (green is less spicy and red is very spicy). Then they top the salsa chips with cheese, sour cream and scrambled eggs and give you yummy black beans on the side. It was so good! I also had some wonderfully aromatic coffee with cream (no sugar, but thanks for asking).

The decor of the cafe is casual and very pink, which I liked. It has a Mexican/Southwestern feeling and is quite airy and bright. (Although, I didn't notice any moose memorobilia, as the name might indicate.)

The prices are reasonable (my breakfast with cofee, tax and tip came out to about $15), the staff was punctual and polite and the food was delicioso! I will be going back again for sure. You can't go wrong with nachos for breakfast. Now if they just served beer for breakfast...maybe Moosehead?
