Every time I flip through a fashion magazine, look at Sephora's website or turn on QVC, all I see is Bare Escentuals make-up. Their whole line is made of crushed minerals and is "so pure, you can sleep in it."I am never one to pass up on a style trend, so I hustled my bustle over to Nordstrom to the Bare Minerals counter for a "consultation". My make-up consultant took off my existing powder and foundation and proceeded to "swirl, tap and buff" her way over my entire face.
I like the idea of a powder foundation and I think it's cool that Bare Minerals is all natural, so it won't cause you to break out. However, I'm not completely converted yet. I passed on the option to buy a starter kit for 75 bones, but I did go back and buy the Multi-tasking Minerals in Summer Bisque (which can be used as a blemish concealer and an under eye concealer.)
The jury is still out on the concealer/multi-tasking mineral stuff. I like it for covering red spots on my chin, but for an under eye concealer, it just seems really dry. Perhaps I have not perfected the application technique. I'm going to give it a week and get feedback. So if you see me, please feel free to descontruct my concealer appearance with constructive criticism. I promise not to cry.
P.S. Is it just me, or does Leslie Blodgett look like a man?
