Thank You, Drive Through

Like a lot of people, I love fast food. (Reading "Fast Food Nation" and watching "Supersize Me" didn't turn me off Egg McMuffins for more than a day.) While it's not cool to admit that you eat fast food, "Oh, me? I just have wheatgrass shakes and soy protein bars for breakfast. For lunch I enjoy a tossed green salad with beet chips and some curds and whey on the side. Dinner is ususally something light, like fresh turnip juice from my juicer and a handful of gorp for protein." Yeah, right. Take the trolley back! Sign me up for hydrogenated oil and some transfat, mothafucka!

Take this weekend, for example...I had pizza from Zagi's (as recommended by daisymayrobin - v. good), which isn't really fast food, but let's not kid ourselves that a cheese pie is health food, Taco Bell (not once, but twice - I prefer the Nacho Supreme minus tomato, but you have to avoid that wretched Crunchwrap Supreme - it's the size of my head and the lettuce is slimy - eyuk.) And to top it all off, I had a maple bar and two Hostess cupcakes from 7 Eleven. (Get the girl a prescription for Lipitor!) And then I threw it all up, so I could fit into my size 24 Rock and Republic Jeans. Ha, but seriously, I don't even own Rock and Republic jeans. (Did you see the ankle zippers on those bad boys?!)

Anyhoo, while a filet of pepper crusted ahi tuna with thai spice aioli can be lovely, I'd (more often than not) rather have a taco salad with ranch dressing from Taco Time with mild sauce from Taco Bell smuggled into the dining area in one of my many purses. (No, I have no shame.) Bon Appetit!
