I Want You To Want Me

So I'm sure you're all waiting with baited breath to hear how I'm doing with my bass. Well, I was on a strict schedule of practicing every Sunday - the Church of Rock, if you will. However, that has dwindled to every other Sunday, which is where the practice schedule currently stands.

I have learned how to play some new songs, though. I like "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols - it's got an easy bass line. I also like "Fire in the Disco" by Electric Six. That's the one that goes, "Danger, Danger, High Voltage!", which never fails to satisfy. It also has a lyric that goes "Fire in the Taco Bell". I love Taco Bell.

I always end with "The Sweater Song" by Weezer, because it's simple and it makes me feel good after trying to play something hard like "Take it off" by the Donnas. I'm still working on that one.

I'm still no Kim Gordon, but it does make me feel good that I can actually play something. And it is fun to rock out in my living room and pretend that I'm on stage in a big arena like Cheap Trick, yelling to all the fans, "This is the first song off our new album!" Except that the bass player would probably not be the one to say that. Nonetheless, it would be cool, I assure you.
