Now that the condo is pretty much sorted (famous last words...), I can get back to the wedding planning. I just put in the order for the catering today. We're going with the buffet package, which includes a pre-reception. I'm not sure why you'd need a pre-reception, but in addition to imported cheeses, fruit and bread, they are also putting out vegetables and "cool ranch dressing". Now, I know that ranch isn't that upscale, but dammit, I've got a ranch tooth like that guy in the Wendy's commercial. (I love that commercial!) So I'm stoked about the ranch. For the main courses, we're going with a classier fare...Grilled Filet of Salmon with a Lemon Buerre Blanc (if it's French, you know it's fancy) or Grilled, Marinated Chicken Breast in a Dijon Cream Sauce, with Oven Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes and a market fresh vegetable of the chef's choosing. (All I've got to say is the chef better not choose that freakin' broccoli rabe unless Broccoli Robbie is going to be there - if that's the case, then sign me up.)
For dessert, we'll have cake, because after all, it is a wedding. And then we'll have beer, wine, more beer, more wine, a champagne toast and then we'll toddle back to officer's row, all fat and saucy.
