If you haven't seen the new Johnny Cash movie, "Walk the Line", you should put it on your list of must see movies. We went to see it over the weekend and I thought it was excellent. The story is compelling and well told, the acting is wonderful and the singing is amazing. I think the movie is definitely Oscar material, but only time will tell. They incorporated a lot of songs that I like into the movie, like "Ring of Fire", "Folsom Prison Blues" and, of course, "I Walk the Line". I didn't think Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix were really singing, but they were! They've both got quite set of pipes! One thing was baffling me, though. They sing a duet called "Jackson". It's all about going home to Jackson. I was wondering why they wanted to go to Wyoming when they're both from the south. My friend January said Jackson is in Mississippi or somewhere, not Wyoming, like I thought. I was thinking of Jackson Hole. A slight difference. Time for my remedial geography class.
