After a lot of research, I have decided on the outfits for my bridesmaids. (I found this website to be very helpful.) I was going to go with this one to the left, but your bridesmaids are supposed to be people you actually like, so there's no need to dress them like they're going to try out for the role of Glenda the good witch in the "Wizard of Oz". I decided to use my friend Carol's idea (white shirts and green skirts), but instead of green skirts, my bridesmaids will be wearing pale pink. (Yes, I like pink. Get used to it.) And instead of white tops, I chose ivory lace wrap tops from Old Navy for the shirts with matching ivory camisoles to wear underneath. (I'd include a link here, but Old Navy's site is down.) I also decided to pay for their bridesmaid outfits. That way, if they never wear the stuff again, it won't be an issue. They can do whatever they want with the clothes after the wedding: never wear them, wear them to work, or they can dump pig's blood over themselves and go as Carrie from that Stephen King movie for Halloween. (I actually think that would be funny - I love Halloween.)
The groom and groomsmen will be wearing simple black tuxes so they'll all match. (Or maybe powder blue tuxes with ruffly shirts? Ha. Just kidding, Aaron.) We just have to pick out the best place to rent them from.
So, now that's all sorted out, we can sort of chill for a while. I think next we'll be doing some wine tasting and decide what kind of beer to get. That will require some drinking, which I don't normally do, ahem. (Ok, I'm really a lush, you got me.) But after picking the venue, the wedding dress, the ring, and the attendants' clothes, I think a few drinks are in order. So pass me that box of wine, dear.
