Wedding News

The wedding planning is cruising along. We took a brief hiatus after I had a nervous breakdown when I saw how much a person could spend on a wedding, but now we're back in the game.

We went to a catering tasting with some friends on Wednesday at the Ravishing Radish. It was at the Seattle Yacht Club and the hors de'oeuvres were beautifully laid out on a table in the center of the room and there were stand up bar tables surreptitiously placed around the perimeter. There was also a bar set up with...champagne, baby! We sampled all the different snacks and had about 4 glasses of champagne. And it was all free! What a racket! I hope to go to many more tastings!

On the ring front, we have my ring back from the jeweller. I'm leaning toward just having a wedding band and no engagement ring. (That loud whoop you just heard was Aaron shrieking after learning that he doesn't have to pay for a diamond.)

I have also temporarily abandoned the idea of having a dress made. Instead, I am actually thinking of getting a dress from David's Bridal. I know, I know, they are like the Kmart of wedding dresses, but check this one out. I haven't tried it on yet, but I like that it has sleeves.

Last but not least, we're still working on picking out a venue. I'm going to the Greenbank Farms this Saturday with my Mom to check it out. I've been there before, but not with a wedding in mind.

So things are developing slowly, which is ok because we've got lots of time. Yes, lots of time. As long as I stay away from stress inducing websites like the Knot and Modern Bride, things should be a-ok. And a little more champagne couldn't hurt matters either...
