Aaron and I made a little trip to Vashon Island over the weekend. It was super fun! I can't believe I had never been there before.
We drove over to West Seattle at about 1pm (that's my kinda day trip - it's more of an afternoon trip) and caught the 1:40pm ferry. It took about 15 minutes to get to Vashon.
We had lunch at the Hardware Store, which was really good! I had a BLT (with no "T") and Aaron had a portobello mushroom sandwich.
Then we went to KVI beach and Lisabuela beach.
We had sundae at Zoomie's. They only had one size - Large - so Aaron and I shared a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and nuts. (I got the nuts in a little side dish, because Aaron is not a fan of nuts - except for me. Thank you - I'm here every Tuesday night.)
After our sundae, we drove around a little bit. It was really pretty! And then we came upon a farm with goats!
I love goats. I hope to have some as pets someday. They are so cute! And these guys were going to town on some weeds that were growing in their pasture.
On the way back to the ferry, we passed a house with a huge yard. I thought they had more goats, but after I asked Aaron to back up and drive by again, we realized they were dear! Oh, dear!
There were five altogether and they were just chillin'.
So, it was a nice and easy trip and it made us feel like we'd really been somewhere. I'd do it again.
