Every summer, in addition to eight million ads and articles about sunless tanners, there are also eight million articles and ads about body waxing. As you know, I am not a fan of waxing due to the high level of neverending pain. Yet, every time I read a review of the best waxing salons or the best ways to tend to waxed skin, I get sucked into thinking that maybe I should try it again. I mean, it is summer after all, right? And I do want to look my best, don't I? Maybe I should get a bikini wax AND a spray tan? Then reality sets in and I say to myself, "F*ck that sh*t." I can't add on any more beauty regimens to my packed schedule at home or in the salon (especially painful ones). Even I have limits. Plus, how can you exfoliate with a spray tan? (They always say to exfoliate after you wax to prevent ingrown hairs.) But wouldn't that rub the tan off? So should you get the spray tan after the waxing is done? If you did it before, you'd end up with a skunk stripe, am I right? But if you did it after, wouldn't the holes in your skin that used to house hair follicles suck up the tanner differently than the rest of your skin? The potential problems boggle my mind.
Thankfully, I live in Seattle, where even on the first day of summer, it looks like February or November. And to this weather, I say, thank you. Thank you for sparing me from having to deal with the tanner/waxing dilemma.
Now where did I leave my Columbia brand parka and my fleece pants? Because it's f*cking cold outside.
Weather update: It's now sunny and beautiful outside! I guess I will just look into getting a new bathing suit like this one...that should sort out all my problems.
