Eye Pod (Not iPod)

As an avid beauty blog reader, I'm always keen to try new products. I never give up hope that I will someday find the holy grail of products that will turn back the clock, while keeping my skin glowing and zit free.

Recently, I tried Olay's Regenerist Eye Derma-Pod Anti-Aging Triple Response System. Olay claims the "eye pod" (hoo hoo, witty pun on their part) "resurfaces, decongests puffiness and fills lines and wrinkles". That's a lotta action for one product!

How did it work, you ask? First of all, you're only supposed to use these little guys three times a week. So it's easy to forget about them since it's not part my daily regimen - that's my first complaint. My second complaint is that the sponge part of the pod is not all that soft. It felt rather rough on my delicate eye area and was not a pampering experience at all (and you know how I love to pamper myself - just not in actual Pampers...riiiiight, we've been over that.) Lastly, and most importantly, my eyes didn't seem any less puffy or smoothed and I rubbed those suckers on my eyes for a minute each time I used them, just like the directions suggest.

So, would I buy this eye "system" again? Not a chance. (Ok, granted, I didn't use the eye derma pods regularly and I haven't gone through the entire box yet, but that is mostly due to the unenjoyable texture of the sponge applicator. Who wants to rub low grade sand paper on their eyes? Not me.)

At the end of the day, I decided that I'm sticking with my old standby: Clinique's All About Eyes eye cream.

(Uh, until I read the next beauty blog about a revolutionary new eye cream, that is...)
