I woke up last night because I had to go to the bathroom, and through the hum of the sound machine and my Leight brand earplugs, I could hear a distant beeping noise. It wasn't the "dong" gonging sound of my cell phone dying and it wasn't the shrill screech of the smoke alarm. Thinking maybe the power had gone out and sent the microwave into a frenzy, I peered into the kitchen. I saw that the oven timer was beeping and flashing "0:00". When I hit "clear", the time displayed "4:20" and the beeping stopped. Dude.
I went back to bed and visions of poltergeists eating pot brownies danced in my head as I tried to fall asleep.
The mystery was solved, though, when Aaron shared with me that he had tried in vain to set the oven timer for our garden burgers last night, because the microwave timer was timing the nacho cheese sauce for our organic corn chips. God, we eat like hippy stoners...
But at least I know that our kitchen isn't possessed by Jerry Garcia's ghost.

Well you know the date tomorrow is 4/20. Duuuuude. I'm getting the munchies just by writing this.
I know! I was thinking how weird it would have been if this had happened at 4:20am on 4/20!
