Happy 2007!

Welcome to 2007, my friends. I hope you all had a splendid New Year's Eve. I have to say that my New Year's Eve went pretty much according to plan. We started off with a pre-funk drink at our friend Miss K's. (Which was prefaced by a close call with parking the Benzie on the street, since it has decided that it no longer wants to engage in reversing.)

After our pre-funking, we headed to Palisade to meet the rest of our par-tay. The place was packed! We arrived at about 10:10pm (our reservations were for 10pm.) But they were also running behind schedule, so we waited in the bar and had a drinkie poo. (I know - drinking on new year's eve? What are the odds?) After just a few minutes in the bar, we were all seated around a table in the restaurant overlooking the marina. We could even see the Space Needle across the bay!

Palisade has an extensive menu, but since it was nearing 11pm, I decided to hone in on the drinks menu and just get a Caesar salad for dinner. Everyone else ordered fancy things like crab cakes, butternut squash ravioli, and prime rib. (They also had a lovely bread basket with yummy herbed butter. Mmmmm.)

Just before the clock struck midnight, a team of servers buzzed around passing out Happy New Year tiaras and hats, noisemakers and complimentary glasses of champagne. Everyone started the countdown to twelve o'clock, and just as we were greeting 2007, our server arrived with our meals!

Everyone enjoyed their dinners, we had good conversation with good friends, and also had some fun and fruity drinks. (If you're wondering, my pomegranate cosmo was divine... and the salad was good, too.) A great time was had by all and we got lots of super photos.

So, here's to a fabulous 2007...Cheers!
