I quit my job.

I quit my job. I cut my hair. You know I cut my boss because I don't care. You tried to get slick you bust a little chuckle. You're gonna get smacked with my gold finger knuckle.

Ok, I didn’t cut my boss or smack anyone with a gold finger knuckle, but I did quit my job. I know it’s kind of crazy “in this economy”, but I just had a “come-to-Jesus” as my old boss would say and realized that it was time for a change for Kittykat. So, that’s part of the reason that I’ve been M.I.A. (not the the “Paper Planes” MIA, but the missing-in-action variety). After a minor meltdown, I came up with a plan. Save some money. Check. Quit my job. Check. Take a staycation vacay (a “staycay”?). Check. Figure out what I want to do for a career next. Check.

Yep, after years of not knowing what the hell I wanted to do, I decided that I’d like to work in a field that has to do with something I care about. And what do I care about more than anything? Skin! So far, I’ve mostly been focused on my own skin, but I think I’d be good at caring for other people’s skin, too. I mean, I’ve only got so much skin to tend to, and it would be fun to help people combat their own skin issues. So, how about a dermatologist? Well, after some research, I saw that schooling to become a dermatologist would just take too long and besides, I don’t want to deal with things that are too icky, like fungus, psoriasis, or any bug-related skin issues (scabies and bed bugs, I’m looking at you.) I’m more into make-up, treatments and products people can use at home. I decided that I’m more suited to help with “age management” and general beautification/relaxation. After talking to my esthetician, she encouraged me to go to school full-time to become an esthetician myself! I thought, hell’s bells, that’s a good idea! So, I applied to school, got accepted and am pretty excited about the whole thing!

After my vacation, I’ll be heading back to school in the fall. If all goes well, I will graduate and become licensed in March 2010. Then, I’ll be looking for a job where I can pamper people. But not with actual Pampers. Although, I’m sure that, too, could be lucrative.
